Mitchell has a business degree in Marketing from the University of Georgia. He was in broadcast television for twenty-eight years. He started out as an Account Executive with the NBC station in his hometown Augusta, GA. He moved up through the ranks of sales management in Greenville-Spartanburg, SC and Macon, GA. Mitchell served as a General Manager of television stations in Macon, GA, Savannah, GA and Memphis, TN. Prior to co-founding Da Pop Advertising in 2013, Mitchell served as Sales Manager of the ABC and CW television stations in Montgomery, Alabama. Knowing the importance of being customer focused, Mitchell takes an academic approach to media marketing to achieve client business growth.
Beau has a degree in Marketing, as well as a Masters in Business Administration from Troy University. He was in broadcast television for ten years, starting out as an Account Executive for Sagamore Hill Broadcasting at the ABC affiliate in Montgomery, AL. He later helped launch a new television station, CW, to the Montgomery market and eventually became the Sales Manager for CW Montgomery. In 2011 he moved to Bahakel Communications as the Sales Manager for CBS 8 and recently helped launch another new station, MeTV Montgomery. Now he is the co-founder of Da Pop Advertising Agency. Beau understands the importance of long-term relationships and strategic thinking. He has excellent communication skills and loves brainstorming. His creative personality and excellent people skills have allowed him much success in the advertising industry.
Tara started in the media world at an early age. She began working with The Montgomery Advertiser, a Gannett property, at the age of 21 and was a very valuable member of that company for almost 10 years. Tara started as a Real Estate Sales Representative and worked her way up to Digital Sales Manager, a position in which she spent several years consulting with businesses on best use and practices of digital advertising. Tara joined Da Pop Advertising in 2016 as Digital Media Director. Tara creates client specific campaigns that meet the unique challenges and objectives that our clients are experiencing in the digital environment. Tara creates, executes and fulfills all client digital campaigns in-house, while giving clients direct access to campaign performance. She is Google AdWords certified and continues learning every day the vital advertising tools needed to compete in the ever-changing digital advertising space.
Ashley Sims started her career in business management at the age of 19. She began working as a Business Manager and Paralegal for a local law firm, Paul Brantley PC, where she stayed for 6 years before becoming an Accountant for a national law firm based in Montgomery. She was an Accountant for Beasley Allen Law Firm for 12 years, where she also helped with tasks for their Marketing, HR and IT departments. Ashley maintains all our financials, making sure our vendors are paid, overseeing our client funding and any miscellaneous business expenses. She also handles our content creation for social media accounts and oversees website maintenance. Ashley is very organized and detailed oriented, giving her the skills to successfully oversee our company’s day-to-day operations.
Jarrod has a degree in Public Administration from Auburn University and worked in public affairs and governmental relations in Alabama for nearly 20 years. Prior to joining Da Pop Advertising, Jarrod served as the Business Development and Performance Revenue Solutions Specialist for Gannett/USA TODAY for Alabama & Louisiana where he was a leading digital performer. Jarrod was a President’s Circle Award Winner and was selected to be part of Gannett’s first-ever exclusive “Diamond Elite” sales professional group. Jarrod is super-focused on Return on Investment. He is super-passionate about our clients and without question is a “workaholic”. All of which drive results for our Da Pop clients. Jarrod has a mindset he approaches everything with…keep the complex simple, and just make it work for our clients. In Jarrod’s spare time, he enjoys spending time with his wife, Sharon, their many fur babies and an occasional motorcycle ride.
Darlene Dixon was born at Maxwell AFB here in Montgomery. After living around the world, she wound up back in Montgomery attending elementary and junior high locally. After graduating from Auburn University, she made Wetumpka her home. After starting her radio career with Y102, she moved to WLWI and remained there through September 2019. In radio and digital sales, she was the top salesperson for many of the years she was there. First working for Colonial Broadcasting until the group was bought by Cumulus Media in 1998. She is a member of the Montgomery Quarterback Club and on the Board of the Downtown Business Association. She has been married to Robert Branyon for 23 years and has 3 children. In her spare time, she loves to play golf and garden.
Scott Morrison enjoys creating content for our clients. He has been working with Da Pop Advertising for over 10+ years. After graduating from Troy University with a degree in Advertising/Broadcast Journalism, he moved to the River Region and decided to focus on Production. Since then, he has directed hundreds of live newscasts, produced thousands of commercials and shot everything from sporting events and news coverage to entertainment and talk shows. He also freelances for ESPN & HBCU GO as a camera operator for live sporting events. However, Scott’s favorite part of the production process is editing. According to Scott, that’s where the magic happens. He enjoys taking all the different elements, including video clips, music, graphics and sound effects and putting them together in an eye-catching way that conveys the client’s message and leaves a lasting impression. Scott is a music lover, who enjoys many different genres of music and loves a good concert. He also enjoys traveling and spending time with his better half, Candice King, and his three children.
Karen joined Da Pop Advertising in January 2015. She is a skilled Graphic Designer with more than 20 years of experience and has worked in a wide range of industries throughout her freelance career. Her design knowledge includes logos, social media ads, magazine layouts, brochures, billboards, email blasts, PowerPoint presentations, mailers, newsletter layouts, stationery, image editing, and much more. Her previous experience includes forming a rich media connection between digital billboard displays and real-time updates, as well as shaping a new world of dynamic imaging for ecommerce websites. Karen is an expert in the Adobe Design Suite with knowledge of creating motion and video advertising. She is certified in designing eye-catching material and has training in Microsoft Office, SEO, and corporate branding with the ability to work on Macintosh and Windows platforms. Karen strives to communicate a visually appealing message while delivering projects on a budget and in an efficient, timely manner. Karen was born and raised in Montgomery, AL where she resides with her husband, Michael and their daughter, McKinney.
Leighton is from Deatsville, Alabama. He has been filming and editing videos nationwide since 2010. Leighton got his start by filming weddings and then transitioned to music videos, live concerts and hunting videos. He got into corporate video production and TV along the way, in 2018 when he met Beau and Mitchell with Da Pop Advertising. He has been producing for them ever since.
He has a passion for storytelling through video and loves being able to capture special moments for his clients. He is constantly learning and growing in his craft, always striving to improve and create the best possible content. He is excited to continue working with Da Pop Advertising and is grateful for the opportunities they have provided me. He looks forward to collaborating on future projects and continuing to create impactful and engaging videos for our clients.
Mandy Balser holds a master’s degree in communication and is a graduate of the Wizard Academy of Ads. She served as the Creative Director for four locally owned radio stations for 16 years, attaining over twenty Illinois Broadcaster Association awards during her tenure, before branching out to start her own voiceover/audio production/copywriting business…Truly Madly Mandy! She is the voice of national and international advertising campaigns for clients including Marvel, Campbell’s Soup, Delta Faucets, HBO Max, Pro Active, Macey’s, Werther’s Caramels, Fage Yogurt and many more! Mandy works with Da Pop Advertising doing copywriting, voiceover and audio production projects. She serves on numerous local boards and is a lifelong participant in community theatre productions. When she’s not working, Mandy enjoys going on bike rides with her ten-year-old daughter, Brynnley, and husband, Brian.
